Christmas Newsletter 2014 Vol. 8 #3 Every Christmas we ponder anew the staggering truth that our God chose to teach us who He is (and who we really are) by wedding Himself to our humanity, even as an embryo in the womb of Mother Mary. Nine months later, angel voices summoned the shepherds to the stable in Bethlehem to witness God manifested in the flesh! Oh, to have been in their company to witness such marvels! Perhaps, without recognizing it, we too have “kissed the face of Jesus.” Here at the center the mystery of Christmas is throughout the year. Even in the most difficult circumstances, once the drama of fear and despair has been conquered, a young woman entrusted with new life, finds during the months of waiting that the child becomes the cause of her joy and the source of a new-found sense of her own feminine dignity. With time, her love and courage is manifested in the flesh – and for us a child is born! Christmas is the manifestation of God’s Incarnation in the flesh - as we rejoice, let us ask how He is calling us to bring the truth of His love to our community. From coming to know God as our Father, through our dependence, we learn the simplicity, the humility and trust. But only if we dare to love one another, if we accept the love that come to us in our lives, saying to each one as it comes, “Be it done onto me according to your word,” accepting the love and, whatever its cost may be, the responsibility of it, and the labor, the sorrow and the splendor of it. This Christmas I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge the significant part that your faithful support has played in the services we provide. Because of your generosity the center is stronger than ever. Because of your investment whether it be time, money, prayers or all three, your gifts are making a positive impact in the lives of women and children in our community. Thank you for seeing the beauty in the lives of the preborn and for helping us to be an instrument of His grace to those in need. May God’s peace and Love shine upon you this Christmas season. Thank you for your support at our September 27, 2014 BanquetIt was certainly a night to remember! About 280 of our friends and financial supporters celebrated our fundraising banquet “Together for Life” with keynote speaker, friend and spiritual director, Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director Priests for Life. It was a high honor to have one of the world’s leading voices on the issues of life headlining our annual banquet. Father Pavone’s ability to reach powerfully across denominational lines is truly inspiring. The evening was full of life. We learned about all the work the SLOC has accomplished this past year with your help. You make it possible for us to minister to and support, women and men, in Niagara Falls and the surrounding areas. We would also like to thank all who were part of the banquet committee, who volunteered to help plan this event. To those who donated to the basket raffle and those who came early to help with setup. Thank you ALL Table Sponsors!

A very special thank you all the Banquet Sponsors! Theses generous supporters helped to underwrite the event so that every dollar donated that evening would go straight to our pro-life ministry of hope and compassion.

One of the most fulfilling things we get to do as a Summit Life volunteer is to help a woman choose life. Most of the women we meet are in turmoil due to an unplanned pregnancy. One young woman came in wanting information about abortion. She was 18 years old. She made it clear that she felt it was a woman’s right to choose. It seemed she had already made up her mind. The peer counselor immediately said a quiet prayer asking for wisdom. God seemed to say, “information, give her information about the baby!” The peer counselor gave her a booklet entitled “Before You Decide”. This little booklet explains the choices for women who have an unplanned and unwanted pregnancy. The peer counselor then proceeded to give the girl information about the baby’s development. The mood changed when the girl was shown a model of a 10 week old unborn baby. The client held it in

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, January 18, 2015… In 1983, President Ronald Reagan designated January 22nd as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day. The date was chosen to coincide with the 11th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case that legalized abortions in the United States. As God’s people, we continue to acknowledge the Sunday closest to January 22nd annually, as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. We have many resources available for you. *Speakers for the months of January, *Bulletin inserts. * Change for Life” Baby Bottle Fundraiser.* Baby Shower. Call the center at 298-8600 for more information.

We rejoiced at the birth of these precious ones, whose mothers graced our lives this year.

Thank you for the hope you have restored in the lives of so many this year.
