Join our award-winning museum to celebrate the sights and sounds of fairgrounds of the past.

Sat 27 Oct Victoria Park Poppy Display Victoria Park, llkeston 10am - 3pm

Thousands of knitted poppies form a memorial trail to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War. Organised by the Friends of Victoria Park.

A RBL Standard Bearer and local cadets will be at the event.

Long Eaton Service 9.30am

Service and Mass at St Laurence's Church.

10.20am

Parade from West Gate to the War Memorial for service starting at 10.45am.

llkeston Service 10.00am

Service at St Mary's Church followed by a procession to the Cenotaph for the wreath-laying and service at 10.50am.

10.35am

Parade will march from the South Street car park to the Cenotaph headed by llkeston Brass.

Sun 11 Nov Battle's Over 6.15pm

Events at llkeston and Long Eaton Market Places to commemorate Battle's Over.

Johnny Victory to entertain at llkeston. In Long Eaton, a singer will be with Long Eaton's Silver Prize Band.

Beacons lit 6.45pm and church bells rung at 7.05pm to 'ring in the peace'.

Tea lights can be left at war memorials to remembe loved ones.

15 - 17 Nov Chestnut Fair Long Eaton town centre

The fair is offically opened by the Mayor at 6pm on Thursday 16 November on Waverley Street.

Sat 17 Nov Stargazing Night Erewash Museum 6pm -9pm

Enjoy viewing the night's sky with llkeston and District Astronomy Soeiety.

There will also be Cool Science to entertain all the budding young scientists!

Thur 29 Nov Christmas lights switch on Market Place, Long Eaton 5.30pm - 8.30pm

The main event takes place in the market place followed by the big switch on at 7pm by the Mayor of Erewash. The event also boasts the Long Eaton Silver Prize Band, Diamond Cut Choir, The Cherrys, stilt walkers and a funfair.

Fri 30 Nov Christmas lights switch on event Market Place, llkeston 5.30pm - 8.30pm

Join the lantern parade from Erewash Museum through llkeston to Victoria Park, or wait at the bandstand and take part

The main event takes place in the market place, with the switch on by the Mayor of Erewash at 7pm. Enjoy music from llkeston Brass Band and The Cherrys, plus a funfair, stilt walkers and a short firework display.

Lantern making workshops Erewash Museum 12pm - 5pm £1.50 per person

Victoria Park, llkeston. 3pm - 5pm, £1.50 per person

Lantern parade 5.15pm - 6.30pm

in the whole procession around the park with lanterns, poetry, story-telling and Morris dancing.

Mon 24 Dec Christmas Eve Carol Service llkeston Market Place 7pm

The traditional Christmas Carol Service will take place in llkeston Market Place on Christmas Eve from 7pm with carols and readings. A wonderful opportunity for family and friends to celebrate this special time of year.
