Public Service - A service performed for the benefit of the public, especially by a nonprofit organization

Collective Participation – A group or organization performing services for the benefit of the public.

Public service can be performed by the government, individuals, groups or organizations.

Public services can include many things: Individuals (Food pantry, clothing drive or

other donations for the needy)Clubs (Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Kiwanis)Organizations (Red Cross, Volunteers of

America)Government Programs (Food Stamps, Social

Security)

YOU can get involved in volunteering in a variety of ways:Ask your parents if they belong to any

organizations that you might be able to joinCheck at your school for clubs or groups

that help the communityCheck in your community for groups that

support a cause you enjoyTutor younger students Spend quality time with a senior citizen

Look for a worthwhile cause in your community and get involved!
