From The President

We had 20 for our own members there! Thanks guys! I would like to give a special thanks to Janice Cassidy and Joyce Wright for helping with the food! Thanks to the fire house for all there help too! Remember the end of the year is coming and the club will be looking for new members! Thanks and Happy Motoring! GWHitchens

COVER CAR

Our 1957 Ford Thunderbird was originally from California, and we have owned it since 1996. It was restored in the early 90' s by Charles Bailey ofNorth Reading. Charlie has restored many cars and many of you may know him from the Early Ford V8 Club.

The T-hird won it' s AACA Senior in 1992 and as most know, the AACA Sr. award does not go with the car, so we earned the Senior again in 1998.

Charlie did a wonderful job on the restoration and I have had to do very little to it over the years. Still looks and runs great. Charlie restored it to it' s original factory build sheet specs.

It was ordered with only the hard top although I certainly wish it had been ordered with both tops as the soft top is so expensive to add today.

Timeless design! Owners, Wayne & Gay Davison

THE CROSLEYS AT MACUNGIE

The Crosley was the featured car this year. We were under the tent for three days. We had 59 Crosley cars, trucks, motorcycle, fire truck and other items by Crosley. One of the highlights was the take-apart car. In a little over six minutes the car was put back together and running. A real crowd pleaser. The grand prize winner of the 1949 Crosley station wagon was Carl Christiansen from Pennington, NJ. First Prize Tokheim Short Gas Pump went to Richard Eckel, Galloway, NJ. Second Prize of the Crosley television was Alan Reed, Ft. Wayne, IN. Third Prize of the 1932 Crosley Little Fella Radio was Corky Shaw, Byron, NY. Fourth prize, modem Crosley radio went to Bill Hossfield, Heritt NJ.

Hiccups Cure

A man went into a drugstore and asked the pharmacist if he could give him something for the hiccups. The pharmacist promptly reached out and slapped the man's face.

"What did you do that for?" the man asked.

"Well, you don 't have the hiccups anymore, do you?" said the pharmacist.

The man replied, "No, but my wife is out in the car and she does!"

A small boy badly wanted Mom in the hospital and he was a baby brother, so his dad going to get a big surprise. When suggested he pray every they got to the room, the night for one. The little boy thought for a moment and replied, "It's a good thing I stopped praying when I did."

ZERBE SISTERS NURSING CENTER ANNUAL CAR SHOW

On Wednesday, Sept. 19th, members and friends ofCCACC met at Croppers in Guthriesville and at Morgantown Community Church and drove their antique cars and trucks to Zerbe Sisters where the cars and trucks were displayed on the lawn.

Many of the residents admired and enjoyed seeing our cars and of course it brought back so many memories for most of them. It was nice to meet Walt Kramer's sister who is now a resident there and Fred Gaines took a neat picture of her holding the huge Minnie Mouse that occupy Jack & Joyce's back seat.

The car show was in memory of Warren O'Neill, Curtis Quaintance, Tom Leach, Trevor Elvin, John Newlin & Bill Crochiere.

We had 15 cars at the show. It was a beautiful day, a little windy, but nice and we enjoyed lunch and conversation on the front porch of the home.

The show was organized by Jack & Joyce Wright, Charlotte O'Neill and Cheryl Heineman, Director of Activities.

Members attending- Bob Allison, Chuck & Mary Walker, Fred & Pat Gaines, Bob & Natalie Gomez, Charlie & Carol Keinard, Jack Robinson, Waite Kramer, John Fleming, Charlotte O'Neill & Jack & Joyce Wright.

HOT AIR BALLOON FEST- HOUSTON RUN

On Saturday, Sept. 1i1\ a Fall Fest and Hot Air Balloon Fest was sponsored by the Historical Society of Salisbury Township, and the event was held in Houston Run in Gap, PA.

Antique, Classic cars, Street Rods and Trucks were invited to attend at 3 p.m. prior to the Balloon lift off at 6 p.m.

Well, you guessed it, at 5:30 the rain arrived and many of the balloons left. They do not lift-off in rainy weather. Since the weather did not co-operate, those who attended also left. It was a disappointment for all of us.

They also had a yard sale, crafts and gifts and food for sale. Very nice event until the rain arrived. Those in attendance, Jack & Joyce Wright, 1957 Chev. Bel Air, Bob & Isia Mae Alison, 1965 Ford Conv.,

Jack & Sue Stezak, 1969 Camaro SS 396, George Hitchens and & Grandson Sam, 2008 Dodge Challenger, Bud & Lisa Tarr, 1950 Ford Tudor and Don & Ellie Welsh, 1956 Plymouth.

To remove the stickers on items purchased, such as a picture frame or a box with the sticky price tag right on it, use a hair dryer directly on the tag to soften the glue, and immediately peel off.

Jack & Joyce Wright, Run Leaders
