2019 PARADE MARSHALMr. and Mrs. Sam and Jenny Sadler

The 2019 Waterford Community Fair Parade Marshals are Mr. and Mrs. Sam and Jenny Sadler. They are long-time residents of Waterford, Ohio. The fair board recognizes them for their legacy of service to the Beverly and Waterford Township communities.

Sam and Jenny were married in 1951. They have two daughters, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Sam is an Army veteran and a retired electrician. Jenny is a homemaker. Also, she worked at Remington Rand, an American Company that was known for manufacturing typewriters and office fixtures. They enjoy each other’s company and sharing their hobbies of various collectibles, including Sam’s collection of 77 antique mechanical jacks and Jenny’s intricate display of an extensive Dept. 56 village.

Sam and Jenny’s legacy of service to the local communities is highlighted by their involvement in establishing two notable organizations: the Pioneer Motorcycle Club and the Beverly-Waterford Rescue Squad. Sam and Jenny are lifelong motorcycle enthusiasts, and they helped start the Pioneer Motorcycle Club and its hill climbs in 1956. It is the second oldest motorcycle club in Ohio, and Sam and Jenny are the only living original members of the club. The Beverly-Waterford Rescue Squad was formed in 1976. Sam and Jenny were two of its first volunteers. They served on the squad about 19 years.

Jenny likes to say, “You enjoy something more when someone enjoys it with you.” The Waterford Community Fair is honored to be represented by Sam and Jenny Sadler as the 2019 parade marshals. The board congratulates Sam and Jenny, and the fair board members invite the community to come out together and enjoy the fair. “You enjoy something more when someone enjoys it with you. “
