About Mrs. Anderson- Graduated from the University

of Houston with degree in Early Childhood Education

- Attended Katy ISD growing up and graduated from Katy High School

- 4th year teaching, 3rd year in Second grade and 3rd year at MRE

- Wife to Todd and mom to 3-year-old Drew and 1-year-old Kylie

Second Grade Norms• Homework is distributed on Monday and due back on Friday• 20 minutes of reading each night (book bags will travel to

and from school each day with reading log inside)• We want to encourage our Mavs to be safe, responsible, and

respectful citizens. Second grade uses the MRE planner to track behavior on a daily basis. Please check each night and initial.

On Tuesday, Star binder has notes from school, and student’s graded work from the week prior. Please review work with your child and have them correct their mistakes.

Morning Meeting and Social Studies

• Morning Meeting begins right after announcements and is the heart and soul of our classroom. It consists of a classroom greeting, sharing time, activity, and message/family business.

• Many social skills are covered in Morning Meeting, although we have another time dedicated in the day for Social Studies.
