“It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus

knew that the time had come for him to leave

this world and go to the Father.

Page 5: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his

love. The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already

prompted…

Page 6: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

…Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus.

Jesus knew that the Father had put all things

under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning

to God;

Page 7: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped

a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a

basin…

Page 8: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

…and began to wash his disciples' feet,

drying them with the towel that was wrapped

around him.”

“Your attitude should be the same as that of

Christ Jesus:  Who, being in very nature God, did not consider

equality with God something to be

grasped, but made…

Page 11: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

…himself nothing, taking the very nature

of a servant, being made in human

likeness. And being found in appearance as

a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death…

Page 12: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

…even death on a cross! Therefore God

exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is

above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should

Page 13: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

…bow, in heaven and on earth and under the

earth, and every tongue confess that

Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the

Father.”

Page 14: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

“He took up the nature of a servant because that was His essential nature as God.”

Page 15: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

“He loved the to the end…”

Page 16: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

“He loved them by SERVING them!

“He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to

wash my feet?" Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I

am doing, but later you will…

…understand." "No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet."

Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me."

“Then, Lord," Simon Peter replied,

Page 22: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

"not just my feet but my hands and my head

as well!"  Jesus answered, "A person who has had a bath

needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is

clean.

Page 23: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

And you are clean, though not every one of you." For he knew

who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not

every one was clean.”

Page 24: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

"No," said Peter, "you shall never

wash my feet."

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have

enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than

clothing?

Page 33: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father

feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?

Page 34: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? “And why worry about your

clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and

how they grow.

Page 35: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they

are. And if God cares so wonderfully for

wildflowers that are here…

and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will

certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? “So don’t worry about these

things, saying, ‘What will we eat?

Page 37: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

What will we drink? What will we wear?’

These things dominate the thoughts of

unbelievers, but your heavenly Father

already knows all your needs.

Page 38: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything

you need.”

receive it…”

“After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and

asked, “Do youunderstand what I was

doing?

Page 44: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.

And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have

washed your feet, you ought to wash each

other’s feet.

Page 45: “ A new command I give you: Love one another.”

I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.

Now that you know these things, God will

bless you for doing them.”
