SDSU Indoor SoccerCaptain’s Meeting
Hobo Dough Deposit
A $25 team deposit through Hobo Dough is required for each team.› This can be paid at the front desk of the
Wellness Center. The Hobo Dough deposit will increase to $30
beginning on the Friday after registration has closed› $5 will not be refunded at the end of the
season. If there is no deposit paid before a team is to play
its second contest, the team will not be able to play until the deposit is paid through Hobo Dough
IM Leagues & Participant Eligibility
All teams must be created on IMLeagues.com› Each player must also be registered on IMLeagues.com before being added to
a team. Students and Wellness Center members are eligible to participate in Intramural
Sports› Wellness Center members must purchase an IM Sports Pass at the Front Desk
A current varsity squad member is ineligible for intramural competition in that sport or related sport.
Former collegiate athletes of a sport must be wait one full calendar tear before participating in their sport.› The calendar year begins on the last practice or game that athlete
participated in.› Former collegiate athletes must also play in the highest available league
Games in which an ineligible player is found to have participated will be forfeited No more than half of the roster may be former Varsity athletes of a related sport.
› No more than half the players on the field may be former varsity athletes. Anyone who has competed professionally is not allowed to participate in the sport
of which they were professional.
Drugs & Alcohol Policy
No Individual who is under the influence of drugs and alcohol may participate in Intramural Sports.› Any player believed to be under the
influence of drugs and/or alcohol may be asked to leave or ejected.
› Any team found to be under the influence may receive a forfeit, and any games won while under the influence may be forfeited.
Sportsmanship
Sportsmanship rating scale: 1-5 Sportsmanship is determined by
Umpires, Officials and Intramural staff. Teams must have season average of
3.5 or greater to be eligible for playoffs.
Season Ratings will serve as the first tie breaker for regular season standings and playoff seeding.
Unsporting acts will result in a lower sportsmanship rating and possibly ejection.
Ejections
Any player ejected for any reason must leave the playing area immediately.
If the player is ejected due to unsportsmanlike conduct, they must contact the coordinator of IM sports before returning to play.
Any ejection due to unsportsmanlike conduct will result in the team receiving a “2” sportsmanship
rating. More than three ejections on one team during a
single game will result in a forfeit.
Forfeits & Defaults
Teams should check IM Leagues each week to verify your team’s schedule
A team unable to field the necessary amount of players AT game time will forfeit the contest.› The first forfeit will result in a $10 deduction from
their Hobo Dough deposit. After two forfeits, the team will lose the remainder of
Hobo Dough deposit and be removed from the league In order to receive a Default, teams must contact
either the Intramural Sports Coordinator or the IM Graduate Assistant by 2pm the day of the contest.
Weather, Events, & Postponement
Any information about weather cancellations will come directly from the coordinator of Intramural Sports via IM Leagues.
Any games which are cancelled may be rescheduled, depending on time and space availability.
Captain’s Responsibilities
The Captain is responsible for the conduct of his/her team. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be permitted.
Make sure all roster additions have been made by Noon of game day

Participant Responsibilities
All students must check in with supervisor using their SDSU student ID› No other forms of ID will be allowed (driver’s
license, etc.)› Check-in will be at the court on which you play
Teams & Players
Teams will consist of five players, one of which will be the goalkeeper
The minimum amount of players needed to start or continue is three
Co-Rec› Two males, two females – Goalie may be of
either sex› If a team has less than four players, one of
them must be of the opposite sex Players must check in with the court supervisor
with their student ID or IM Sports Pass› No exceptions
Equipment
NOT ALLOWED› Jewelry: This includes earrings,
necklaces, wristbands, bracelets, etc.
› Hats will hard bills› Head bands or bandanas with an
exposed knot Shin guards are recommended, but
not required
Equipment
Jerseys will not be issued for indoor soccer
Home team on IM Leagues will wear white
Visiting team on IM Leagues will wear any other dark color
No teams may wear gray Teams with jerseys should communicate
this information to opposing team captain to avoid wearing similar colors
The Field
All games will be played on Court 3 in the Wellness Center
Balls that strike the walls are playable› Exception: Balls that strike the wall
above the lower painted area, glass, basketball goals, netting, or track are out of bounds
Balls that strike the gym dividers are out of bounds and result in a dead ball pass-in. (In-Direct)

Timing
The game will consist of two, 18 minute halves with a 3 minute halftime
The clock will run continuously unless stopped by injury› There will be no extra time
There will be no overtime during the regular season
Pre-Game Meeting
Rock, paper, scissors will determine which team gets choice of options› Possession or side› Teams will switch sides at halftime.
Possession will also alternate from first half.
Player equipment Sportsmanship
General Game Rules
Absolutely no slide tackling allowed› No contact – yellow card› Contact – red card
There is no offsides in indoor soccer Balls that go out of bounds (pass over
the touchline nearest the divider curtain) will be subject to a pass-in› All pass-ins shall occur by foot, no throw-
ins› The defense shall give the offensive
player a minimum of five yards distance
The Goalie
The ball cannot be rolled out by the goalie with their hands beyond the midfield line without touching another player
Goal kicks must touch another player before crossing the midfield line
The goalie may not play a ball with their hands outside of the goalie crease
The goalie may play a ball to their feet and make a shot or pass beyond midfield
The goalie may not drop kick the ball
Direct Free Kicks
Direct free kick awarded when a player intentionally commits any of the following 10 offenses (penalty kick awarded when infringement takes place in penalty area)› kicking or attempting to kick an opponent› tripping an opponent› jumping at an opponent› charging an opponent in a violent or dangerous manner› striking or attempting to strike an opponent› holding an opponent› pushing an opponent› charging an opponent with shoulder (i.e., shoulder charge)› sliding at an opponent (i.e., sliding tackle – automatic card)› handling the ball (except goalkeeper)
Indirect Free Kick
Indirect free kick awarded when any of the following 7 offenses is committed (kick taken from the nearest spot outside the goalie crease when infringement takes place in penalty area):› dangerous play (e.g. attempting to kick ball held by
goalkeeper)› obstruction› charging the goalkeeper in the penalty area› goalkeeper throws ball directly over the halfway-line
(without it first touching any player)› goalkeeper picks up or touches with his hands a back pass› goalkeeper picks up or touches with his hands a kick-in
from a teammate› goalkeeper controls the ball with any part of his body for
more than 4 seconds
Corner Kicks
Should the ball strike a defensive player and contact an object or wall deemed out of bounds, the offense shall be awarded a corner kick nearest the point out of play
Corner kicks shall be taken from the corner lines of the basketball court
Defensive players shall give a distance of five yards for the corner kick
Substitutions
Substitutions c be made on the fly All Substitutions must be made in
the Sub Zone Leaving the zone early will result
in a violation Repeated substitution violations
will result in an indirect free kick for the opposing team
Playoffs
Playoffs will begin Sunday, November 22nd. The top 2 teams from each division will
advance to playoffs Standings are determined by, in order:
winning percentage, sportsmanship rating, point differential, points against
Teams must maintain a satisfactory sportsmanship rating of 3.5 throughout the
playoffs in order to continue
