THE PACESETTER: Independent advertising giant Rubin Postaer and Associates is the largest agency ranked by the number of employees in Los Angeles County. The company reported 607 employees in its local office, an increase of 82 employees – 16 percent – from a year ago. It also reported an increase in gross billings to $1.28 billion last year, up from $1.21 billion in 2011. One of the firm’s largest clients, American Honda Motor Co. Inc., announced a major change last month in its advertising strategy: It will use a multi-agency approach for its Honda and Acura brands. MediaVest was selected as the media agency serving both brands, with RPA chosen as the creative agency for the Honda automobile brand and Mullen as the creative agency for the Acura brand.
