Tenerife, Spain 1992

Manuel de Vega, of the University of La Laguna, organized the Fourth EWIC in Tenerife. Marc Marschark, of the Rochester Institute of Technology, was also closely involved in the scientific organization and the subsequent publication.

The meeting coincided with the inauguration of the new building of the Faculty of Psychology on the Campus de Guajara. The keynote speakers included Martha Farah (U Penn), Phil Johnson-Laird (Princeton), and Michel Denis. The volume of abstracts provided a nice indication of the human brain's capacity to produce vivid, colorful mental images!

The social dinner took place in the Grand Hotel Mencey in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with entertainment provided by Añoranza, a famous group of Canarian singers and musicians. It was also a thrilling (and chilling!) experience to climb up Teide mountain in December, just a few days before Christmas.
