Duringmysophomoreyearofcollege,AprilFools’Dayhappenedtobeour irstdaybackfromspringbreak.Assomebodywhohasabitofamischievousstreakinhim,Idecidedtotakeadvantageofthishappenstanceandbandagedmyhead,placedmyarminasling,andwalkedwithalimptofooleveryoneintothinkingI’dbeeninvolvedinacaraccidentduringspringbreak.Everybodyfellforitandmylastminuterevealattheendofmyclassesthatdaywasreceivedwithabriefmomentofstunnedsilence,followedbyanger,andinallyajovialchuckle. Practicaljokesseemtohaveastayingpowerand,providedtheyaren’tharmful,peopleusuallycan indthehumorinthem.Mypenchantforpracticaljokeshaswanedinrecentyears,sonobodyneedfearanotherAprilFools’Dayprankfromme(unless,ofcourse,that’sexactlywhatIwantyoutothink!).However,thelevityandplayfulnessthatgivesrisetothegood-naturedjokesonAprilFools’Dayhopefullywillimpactusallasweenterintospring.
