Early in the Second Sino-Japanese War, Chinese skies provided the testing grounds where Japanese aircraft and pilots would be stressed and improved. The E8N2 seaplane was a catapult-launched reconnaissance biplane. It would have fit in well in WWI and provided valuable service to the Japanese over China, but American entry into the war escalated the caliber of aircraft needed for the war. The E8N2 continued to serve, but only in rear echelon units. Kit features two sets of decals plus new aileron rod and oil cooler parts.

Slim but striking, the Do 215 was initially developed by Dornier for the Swedish Air Force. Germany put 6,000 Panthers in the field, America built roughly 50,000 Shermans. It wasn’t the best tank of the war and it wasn’t the worst; it was the one we needed to WIN. With a Rolls-Royce Meteor V12 600 horsepower engine and the Christie Suspension, the Cromwell tank could potentially reach speeds of 40 mph and up. Unfortunately, at those speeds the suspensions didn’t last very long. Operational tank models were electronically limited to 32 mph which was still entirely fast enough to do end runs around lumbering German tanks and hit the flanks hard. Though they never completely ended the threat from the V-1 these measures forced Germany to consider radical concepts like “piggyback” mounting V-1s on Ar 234 jet bombers and firing them into the city from other directions. Trumpeter 1/72 Chinese J-10B FighterCommunist canardThe relatively secretive J-10B was developed in China and introduced into service in 2005. It’s a substantially powerful multirole fighter with Mach 2+ capability and hardpoints for up to 15,000 lb. of external stores. In addition, it mounts a twin-barreled 23mm autocannon capable of firing over 3,000 rounds a minute. Most importantly, the J-10 is equipped with a radar set than cat simultaneously track ten enemies and engage two.
